A brand spanking new illustration of a map of the Most Haunted Places in Minnesota for my editorial illustration class!
A little larger in scale but it's done in pen, watercolor, acrylic ink, and watercolor.

Enjoy!
Love,
Mary
Hey hey hey!
Check out the Star Tribune Variety section tomorrow for an article about MCAD editorial illustration students and our project about the Minnesota State Fair!
I was interviewed for the article last week by the writer Jackie Crosby (super nice lady!) about my art and illustration.
My work plus some other pieces from the class will be put online, as well as a few printed in the paper.

Here is my illustration 11"x11", acrylic ink, pen, marker
Please don't steal!
Mary
Edit:
Whelp,
Here you go!

Enjoy!
Summer is going well!
I'm bad at updates lately.
Let's just say I've been busy working at my design internship. The other week I designed a Halloween pumpkin decoration that's actually going to be MADE and produced and sold in stores!
I also got some sweet Vibram Five Fingered running shoes from Ben for my birthday!
Let's just say that I never run for an hour, and I EASILY ran for an hour in these.
Seriously, go buy them, it's basically running barefoot without having to worry about hurting your feet!
Well I have Sherlock Holmes and a glass of warmed brandy to turn my attention to at the moment.
Have a good night!
Love,
Mary
HA!
It's funny how I write a post after a long time last night and then next day I actually have something to share.
So I'm doing designs for a company called Hadley Table based out of Edina.
I'm commissioned to do a lot of different designs, so today I worked specifically on "Flower Bursts" to be arranged on masonite place mats.
Take a look!

100% illustrator, and done by ME. Please don't steal them because they not only belong to me, but the company I made them for.
I also got word that the Seashell drawings for the place mats I did over winter break are actually going to be a PRODUCT in September.
Once I get some of them I will share.
Enjoy these little goodies! They're definitely reminiscent of the weather outside!
Love,
Mary
Okay, I'm not gonna lie,
I've been such a bad blogger,
and I may have had 5/7 of a bottle of wine tonight
due it it being a weeknight,
a boyfriend and a roommate that have jobs in the morning,
and my just having to do freelance work for money at the time, which is completely my own schedule.
So,
I'm sorry I've been so bad at posting.
I haven't even MADE anything yet. I've just been making logos and doing internship work.
Sigh.
I promise I will be more exciting next time
Love,
Mary
